NOT for TPU molds.

"Regrettably, "non-silicone molds" does not include TPU molds. I have some TPU molds stuck to urethane castings, which is super frustrating. I strongly suggest updating your labelling as this is not just a destroyed mold, but also wasted resin."

Amazingly Efficient

"Just as the instructions indicated, a light spray is all you need for a very easy release from the mold."

I’M OUT $300!! JUNK!

"Absolute garbage! This was my second time trying to use this product. I get all my epoxy from Alumilite and love it. I have now had to destroy two $150 silicone molds because this product does not work. I might even switch epoxy brands now just because of this. I’ve used cheap Amazon silicone molds without using mold release and had better luck."

Q&A

Will it work for release of wood from bedding glass on fire arms
It's designed for use with silicone molds, so not sure it would be exactly what you're looking for.
I am making two piece platinum silicone molds and need a release agent to apply to the first cured half of the mold to prevent the second pour of silicone from sticking. Is this product capable to prevent silicone from sticking?
Unfortunately, most general-purpose release agents won’t work between two layers of platinum-cure silicone, because silicone tends to stick to itself like glue once it's cured. So to directly answer your question: No, standard mold release products aren't always reliable for this specific application. However, you're on the right track! Here are a couple of alternatives: Petroleum jelly (like Vaseline) – Thin it out with a little mineral spirits and brush on a light, even coat. This creates a very dependable barrier between the cured and uncured silicone. Talcum powder or baby powder – Lightly dusted, this can also work well, though it may not be quite as foolproof as Vaseline. Be sure it’s applied evenly and thoroughly, especially in undercuts or detail areas. 🚫 Just a quick safety note: always double-check that your chosen material won’t interfere with mold detail or cause inhibition—especially with platinum silicones, which can be very sensitive.
Is the amazing mold release spray silicone based?
Great question! 😊 Yes, Amazing Mold Release Spray is silicone-based, which makes it excellent for helping your molds release castings smoothly and easily. It works well with silicone, urethane, and resin molds, extending their lifespan while reducing the chances of your project sticking. 🏗?✨ If you're using it with silicone molds, just remember to apply a light, even coat and let it dry before pouring your material. Too much buildup can sometimes affect the surface details of your casting. Let us know if you have any other questions'we're happy to help! 🎨🛠? Great question! 🌟 Yes, you can definitely use mold release with RTV silicone molds. In fact, using a mold release is a great way to enhance both the durability and longevity of your molds. We generally recommend using a release agent with all types of silicone molds. It';s a simple step that can really extend the life of your mold and keep it in good working order. 🛡?⏳
